Kevin Hearn

Kevin joined BNL in 1995. He joined the tour before Born On A Pirate Ship was
released but he did not play on the CD. Kevin was born July 3rd, 1969 and was
raised in a Toronto suburb. He was schooled at the Toronto Conservatory and
played with ‘The Look People’ before he joined BNL. He has also written film
scores for movies and television. Anyone who knows Kevin can tell you he’s just
about the sweetest, kindest, friendliest guy in the world. His presence in the band has
gradually become more and more apparent and his personality just naturally blends in
with the rest of the boys.

Kevin plays keyboards, accordion and guitar. He has also played with the
Rheostatics, Corky and The Juice Pigs, and the Creeggan Brothers. Just recently he
released a solo CD called Mothball Mint. The CD is available from Page Music,
Nettwerk, and soon to be available in record stores worldwide. Kevin’s music has
also appeared on a Christmas compilation CD called, Cool Christmas, with a song
titled “It’s Christmas Time O’Yeah”. Keep your eyes focused on this great young
singer/performer/songwriter, he’s on the move!

In March of 98 Kevin was diagnosed with Leukemia. He is currently undergoing
treatment and a bone marrow transplant. Chris Brown will temporarily filling in on the
HORDE festival. At the bottom of this page there is a recent post from the mailing list,
The Treefort that explains the situation.
Cindy Royal has also set up a great page with more info about Kevin and how to
help out and make donations to the Leukemia foundation. You can visit her site by
